topic 3-D Navigation only sometimes? in Installation & update

<T>Just bought a new Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 laptop thinking it would make the cut for AC10 but I am getting frustrated. Seems to just stop showing 3-d view sometimes. Once I can't get it to show in the 3-d window I must force the rendering by changing the perspective in the views control window, then it shows up only once until I go back to the floorplan.

I upgraded to 2 GB of Ram (Capacity). It's got dual 1.73GHz processors and an Intel Express Graphics Chipset. Unfortunately it came with Vista Premium 32bit. Also just downloaded the most recent graphics card driver but it still seems to do it.

Any ideas on this one or do I need to upgrade?
How many Ramagigs on the video card, because that is what is killing you.

Try this to find out for sure:

- make a small OpenGL window, not the full screen.
- reduce your rendering distance in the 3D Options dialog
- uncheck all of the OpenGL options.

these three things will reduce the rendering load. Then you'll know if you should send your satellite into orbit or not.
