can someone tell me why can't archicad merge or open files that have longer names, longer then :ArchiCAD supports max 27+3 characters:, just curious to know since in most of other softwares this is not a problem

Because this was so in Mac OS 9 ...

Now ask again why is it still so when OSX is around for years and Windows does not have 8+3 limit for double the years that OSX is around.

Some things remain a mystery.
