hi, I've got the ArchiCAD International 9.0, but when I've finisher installing it, I can't load it because of an error which says that I don't have the GSroot.dll file. can someone get in contact with me and send it to me? please, I gotta finish some work and I really need it... this is my mail, if someone can send me tha file I'd really thank him

andreschato,
I did a search for that file name on my Mac and got no results.
Either this file is buried inside the application itself in which case
no one can send it to you or maybe it is a file in the pc version
of the program. I would try installing the AC package from the
install CD again, since clearly the first installation was flawed.

Peter .dll is a typical windows file (notorious for causing problems if missing)

I would suggest a reinstall is in order. Did you by any chance install with custom options which may not have installed that system file?, or moved any archicad files?

Haven't had time for a look on my mac though.

Which OS?

Make sure that you are installing with Administrator rights enabled. Turn antivirus software off.

Hi again. I'm the one who installed ArchiCAD 9 and couldn't run it. It started saying that the GSroot.dll file was missing. Then I've got the file but now it says that InputOutput.dll is missing... I checked which files could be missing too and are these:

First... take a deep breath

Second, create a Signature file. It will make it a lot easier for people to figure out what might be happening on your computer and how to help you. To see how to create a Signature go here:

Third, uninstall ArchiCAD. Use the uninstall function; if you are on Windows go to Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs
, highlite ArchiCAD and click on the Change/Remove button.; on the Mac, find your ArchiCAD 9 folder. Inside of it there will be a folder called Uninstall.AC and inside that will be the uninstaller.

Fourth, restart your computer.

Last, insert the ArchiCAD CD and let the installer run using the defaults (don't try to make any decisions for the installer).

Remember as you go through this that computers require certain Permissions which allow some people to do things like add or remove programs and do not allow others to do the same; make sure you have the necessary Permissions (log on as an Administrator)

You really need to reinstall ArchiCAD? Seems really really strange. You will find all of those files on your CD.

All of the above named files are critical for ArchiCAD to run properly. Either you didn't heave Admin rights when you installed.

Look, this is something the simply works EVERY time; unless you somehow interfere with the installation process or don't have proper permissions. I suggest that you call the person you bought it from. I'm sure that they would be more than happy to help.

Well, I'm a programmer, so sometimes I find a way to enter the file which contains all those .DLL files... but in this case I couldn't.
I logged on as the Administrator, but even if I reinstall the ArchiCAD again, it will give me the same error. The problem is that the disc is broken somewhere so at 64% it stops installing... but, rarely, it doesn't say: "the installation have had a problem and had to end". It stops there as if it had already installed. I guess that if I get those files (which are not so many) it has to work. So I've an idea. Someone with ArchiCAD already working give his MSN so I can chat with him and get the files through there.
If it doesn't bother anyone...

I don't understand why you just don't get in contact with your reseller?

They will gladly send you out a new CD free of charge. Simple really.

Unless you are using an illegitimate version of ArchiCAD and don't have a reseller to contact!

That's it. Actually I'm using a copy. I didn't have enough money to buy the original. But, nowadays, it is normal. Anyway, I think if i get those files I solve the problem.

I certainly hope you won't get too much sympathy here from people who worked hard to pay for their copies of ArchiCAD.
