<R>Has anyone ever had a problem with a tif file not opening after it was burnt to a DVD? Where I work we had about 250-300 jobs where each had scanned images of the working and preliminary drawings. Now that they have been burnt to a DVD I went back to print out one of the jobs and its saying that the file doesn’t exist. I have tried copying some of the files back to the server overlooking the properties and still no success. Are there any recovery programs/processes that I could use?

Does the file system see it? Can you read it from the DVD writer?

The DVD compatibility is still a grey area; -, +, RW ... Try to read the DVD on the writer where it was made, if THAT device does not read, you might be in a big trouble.

After trying to read the tif files from the DVD burner that was used to burn the files the first time here is the messages we are receiving. "Document format invalid or not supported"
You are reading it WHERE?

Opening it in a software, OS viewer, ArchiCAD, Explorer, what?

If ArchiCAD/PlotMaker, check out ArchiGuide for the TIFF flavours that are/are not supported.

Usually Photoshop opens anything bitmapped - try OpenAs.

Out of my depth, and sleepy,

I'm viewing the files through windows explorer. Also for some reason half the tif files are working great and the other half are not supported. They are now MAC formatted?!?! My guess is that they got corrupted during the burn process and we are just SOL.
