<T>Just got a new G5 and transferred all of my files via fire wire during the "set up" mode when starting the new computer.

Now when I open an AC file, I get the dialogue box that tells me that "the project cannot be opened for writing because: another user is reading it, or a publishing process is accessing it, or a system level permission problem is preventing file access."

The two computers are not currently networked. I don't use Teamwork, but I am guessing that is might be a Teamwork setting of some sort?

Thanks as always,
might be a OS permissions thing.
select the file and command I, look at details and see if file is read write.

I find the permissions thing a bit flakey and use a freeware program called Batchmod to change the permissions of a file or folder and contents. Just dont get gung ho and change any system files!!!

Thanks! Worked like a charm. Now the doors and windows are missing even though the library is loaded properly. AC 8.1 library is loaded (project was originally started in 8.1) but was updated to 9.0.

Tried reloading multiple times in library manager (also includede 9.0 library to see if that mattered), but with no luck..

thanks again,
Ok, got the problem solved. When i had OX10 automatically transfer all the files and apps from the old computer to the new one, somehow the libraries didn't transfer properly.

It appeared to work, but in fact the libraries were "empty". Reloaded the libraries manually and all is fine.
Odd.

We seem to be having the same problem, but it happens to every PLN file saved with Archicad 9.
Tom, are your files being written to a server. If that is that case the files can take on the permissions of the folder it is being moved to.

The files are being written to a server, but the permissions are set to rw-rw-rw all the way down.

We even tried it on a local hard drive, with the same results.
