Exploding Text Not in Archicad 11??

Was there ever a time where one might explode text into vectors and fills or am i dreaming?

AFAIK you could do it in Autocad, but AC nope.

That's what Illustrator is for.

i remember when i wanted to create a line style with text on it, it seems that i exploded a text and used those lines for the new line text abv it...
it could have been a dream though !!!

I betcha they can do it in KetchUp.

Swell. I used illustrator - since it puts text in a circle and i am designing a glowing medallion, things are going to work out fine.

Explode the 3d text library part. Don't forget to have 'show view in 2d' on.

Yes they can by using the 3D Text tool and then exploding it.

Hey, it is the same procedure, maybe GS is "stealing" from Google.

And it is easier in SketchUp.

Ahh, fair enough. Shall I start a poll demanding that it should be made even easier than Sketchups?

So easy, in fact, that I only have to gesture towards the screen and it gets done. A bit like Dwights Avatar, but one handed.

Yes, but by using two hands in a mere symmetric gesture, I can describe entire structures including their details and written specifications if anyone on staff had the skill to interpret my genius.

I am sure other employers share this problem.

I assume your next book will have a chapter on this obviously important but seldom taught subject. I look forward to the day when an architect can gesticulate with wild abandon and not be greeted with blank stares or barely muffled sniggering.

You offend against a great mind. Our Guru Gehry wouldn't wave his arms like my idiot boss did.
He would crumple tracing paper up into meaningful balls, stick them together and have them digitized. You'd only smirk once at that until you saw how well it worked.

If you see "Sketches of Gehry" it is more construction paper, scissors and transparent tape, then a crew of slaves doing a full model, then digitized. If I remember correctly there was some hand waving maybe more orchestra conductor than "Dwightish".

When I need to explode text i do it in Autocad. It is just a simple command: "Explode text"!
