DuoCore w/ XP optimization.........?

I ran across this thread while working through another issue.

Now my personal interest has nothing to with gaming, and this thread appears to be mostly about that, but...........these geeky gents of another stripe, [most of can be referred to by the same moniker], do tend to get the most out of their machines, so there is some crossover, I think.

If this is indeed accurate information, anyone running a new Duo Core chip set w/ XP is most likely not realizing the full potential of the hardware.

I am running this "fix" on my new machine and no problems to report. I did not bench mark anything ahead of time. Perhaps someone with more time or interest, on their hands, can run some benchmarks that are relative to our concerns............or not. Anyway, thought this might be of interest, for what it's worth
