No parallell port on new computer

Hi,

An old Archicad customer still running AC6 got a new computer for christmas and it had no parallell port...he bought a parallell-to-USB adapter from the local computer store but it didn't work. Any ideas on how to manage this?

Which computer?

And is should be USB to parallel.

Maybe it is time for him to upgrade, after 8 years?

We did that years ago, so I barely remember. I know our adapter came with software, and getting the settings right took a little trial and error.

I solved it anyways with a little help from a friend called Graphisoft. The computer is an HP Pavillion. I wasn't aware that you can buy computers without a parallell port today but I guess it's called development of some sort.
It would be time for an upgrade, sure...but the customer is a retired architect really happy with doing small missons for free for friends and organisations. He loves his 6.0 and doesn't use it commercially.
