<T>Hi,
I am looking at the HP7000 notebooks which seems to be getting rave reviews.
aGB DDR SDRAM 60 GB hard drive,
Intel(R)Penteium(R)4.3.40GHZ w/HT technology,17" WVA WSxGA brightview screen.

Can anyone comment on the following:
1. video card: 128MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(TM) FX Go5700?
2. is the HT extreme worth the extra $550?
I like mine.
The Extreme didn't seem worth the extra $. I got the sence the Extreme was geared for the gaming market.
Video Card seems fine with AC.
Wide aspect, bright sceen is nice to work on.

Wow!!! I just went to the HP website. 17" screen, 1 gig ram, 128 mb video card, all for a fantastic price. I might finally break down and get a laptop. Thanks for the info.

Did you get the extended/"drop me" warranty? It moves you to the top of the list when and if you need service (as well as peace of mind) Mine went out on a Thursday and was back in my lap on a Tuesday! And the tech people on the phone, were sit down, really great!

You will not be disappointed............

I posted this yesterday in "more about laptops"..........go to this link:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.zd7000forums.com/index.php?s ... 488077615c">http://www.zd7000forums.com/index.php?sid=afaaf2c83755f68e3486f8488077615c</LINK_TEXT>
type photoshop in search and decide for yourself..........

Issues have arisen with the HP ZD7000 series laptops that should be considered. SOME units when making memory intensive moves in Photoshop will [DO] crash as in "lights out", no power, the whole computer shuts down. Until this is resolved I would shy away from these, if it weren't too late............

Outside of this issue, as of yet unresolved, I love this thing. But I would be remiss if I didn't alert my fellow ArchiCAD users.

Anyone who might be considering the ZD7000 HP has remedied the problem for my machine and other US users. [there are some UK owners who were having epic finger pointing battles (Adobe vs. HP) with tech support] I should add that beyond this slightly protracted hassle this machine has been very sweet.

Supposedly all new machines are using "immune" hardware.
