I have tracked down the problem and the solution.

Check Network settings
under proxies
check
Automatic Proxy Detection

Why is it that GS's site was the only one that didn't work before still have no clue, but at least I can download the patch.

<R>Need some help here...
I have been trying to access the AC09 Update but I can't access Graphisoft's site. The standard message is

"Safari can’t open the page “http://www.graphisoft.com/” because it could not load any data from this location."

This happens with Safari, Firefox, Camino and IE on my PB and G5. The only recent change to my system was running the 10.3.9 OS X update. I have:
repaired permissions
reapplied the combo update
cleaned the caches
restarted etc.

Up to now the only site affected is GS's, every other site is working fine.
Any ideas?</R>

I had the same problem with Safari 12 hours ago, but have since been able to download and install. At the same time, I was able to download the Windows update without a hitch ... so make you wonder if the Mac files are on a separate server?
AC works like a charm with the 10.3.9 update. This afternoon I will take the PB to the University to see if the problem I am getting has to do with my network settings.

Anyway the Safari version that comes with the update is basically the same one that will ship with Tiger later this month (without the RSS reader). All that I have read and tried points to either a possible Java problem or some network setting. It is still strange that the only site I can't access is GS's.

Spoke too soon and since this has become my personal journal... lets continue.

I was able to connect to GS site from my office at the University. The change I did was to enable automatic proxy detection and specified the DNS server.

Arrived at home specified the particular settings for my network and it doesn't work. Right now I know it is a Network setting or the Firewall.

Any leads as to how to fix this is appreciated.
