Buggy Text box

Does any one get this when trying to enter text into a label string?
The edit window hardly shows any height and goes full width of the screen.

Temporarly using 2.0 dual G5 mac

what's the height of your text? and did you start typing with this text editor on screen?

Hiya Ben,
Height of text is 2.5mm and happens (not always) when i click into the text part of a label on screen
I've tried a new and reset too

I have had the same experience, but it is erratic and sporadic. Have not noticed a pattern.

Rude comments, clicking in somewhere on the screen, trying again after scrolling and/or zooming a bit seems to fix it until the next time. It is annoying.

I only noticed this when I switched to using a 2.0G G5. I will see if it occurs next week on my normal machine.

I get it as well, sporadic, no noticable pattern. Im on a dual 2.5 G5.

This will be no help what-so-ever, but it used to happen to me every time I used the text tool. One day it started acting correctly and it hasn't acted up since. Darned if I know.

Dear Talkers,

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. After some research into this mater I believe I have discovered a pattern:

1. If the text has one row and

2. The zoom factor of the view makes the text unreadable

3. And the bounding box of the text is close to the length of the window

Then an attempt to edit the text will result in a SCROLL BAR that completely covers the text to be edited making the editing operation futile.

Thanks Andor. The only time this has happened on my current computer (see sig) is as a result of events you have described.

On a G5 (dual2.0) it occured when the text box (actually a label) was clearly visible. More recently, when using the G5 again I havent had the problem.
