Truth is, Archicad 9 runs fine (except for final rendering) on an old 400MHz Powerbook G3 Firewire with 700MB RAM and a built-in ATI Rage 128 graphics card! (We've tested it) And on my Dual 533 G4 with 1GB of RAM and ATI Radeon 32MBit feels swift, except for some renderings and large Plotmaker layout book updates. I feel no hurry to upgrade, although I will eventually. If I can stand it, i'll wait for the G5 powerbooks.

<R>Hi all,
finally they are shiping AC 9 in my country (which is Czech republic). But it has system requirements:
Minimum: Power Macintosh G4 1 GHz
Recommended: Power Macintosh G5 1,8 GHz

Below you see my specs. If I boosted my RAM to 1280 MB, would it run ok or would it be still too lazy?

Unfortunatelly I can't afford G5, because we spent a lot of money on new Plotr

Thx in advance</R>

If it runs Archicad 8.1 OK, it will run version 9 even better.

It also depends on the comlexity and size of the models you are creating!

In view of your 128 mg graphics card, you should be okay.

I have operated ArchiCAD 9 on my G4 667 mhz laptop with 1G of RAM and it is okay - but jerky open GL with 16 mg of video RAM - for complex ArchiCAD 9 renderings my G5 is asking for almost 2G RAM.

A quicker machine opens dialog boxes noticeably faster.
