What is this icon?

I've been using AC for more than 5 years and I just realized something.
On the bottom right of my AC screen I cave an icon of my hard disk space and next to it an icon of the memory? When I click it the memory No changes..What does this mean? Why am I allowed to change this number? What does this affect?

It's just how much Virtual Memory your computer has. It's kind of a useless fact unless it's running down near zero.

I was glad to see there was a graphisoft stand at the cityscape exhibition last december...
Is AC big in the offices in Dubai?
