hello! im using AC9 since it came out and now for 3 months im trying to make the transaction to AC10. it is more difficult than i had exepted. i was using AC8 before AC9 and i had no problem. now i find it very difficult. tell me did you have problems when you started using AC10?i cannot find anything and the most important i cannot find that wonderful toolbar called 'window switcher'.
oh! and sth else. can i have both AC9 and 10 installed on my computer? because now i have some projects for clients to do and decided that i dont have the time to search v10 so i reinstalled v9. could i have both?

Yes, you can have both 9 and 10 on your computer. We do, and still use both (for the reason you mentioned). I think the jump from 9 to 10 is the biggest I have seen in terms of new and better features, so the learning curve is more difficult. In the long run though, it will be for the best.

Same here.
I have been on this boat since version 6, and this I feel is by far the biggest leap.
One of the reasons is Graphisoft decided, finally, to clean up the menus, putting everything in it's proper place.
This is great for those who begin working with AC now, but get's very frustrating for the old timers. Nothing is where it 'should' be.
It takes time getting used to.
As for 9, I also keep using it, but only to open some old projects, mostly ones with ArchiTerra meshes (haven't bought that upgrade yet).
I would not advise to keep using AC 9 though. You have to commit to the new version, which is much more powerful and user friendly.
It just takes time, but it sure is a good investment.

I was trained to use 9, then in practice ended up using version 8. Now we have v10 in the office, but not everyone is happy with the gap in functionality. Much better results in 10, but you need to spend the time getting used to the new working methods.

I'm still finding using View Sets difficult. for example all the different scales. Before we just used to import pmk's into plotmaker and scale it manually.

I rolled out AC10 with a little bit of a tweak: I modified a lot of the menus so they looked a little closer to the AC9 arrangement than the ones out of the box. It was a bit of a pain for me, but the people in the office LOVED me for it. There is a Work Environment for those who want it "untampered", but the AC10 interface was so wildly different from AC9, I felt it would be easier to learn if it felt more familiar.

I know after the release, GS posted an AC9-like Work Environment on their website.

When I installed AC10, it told me that there are Work Environments from previous versions on the computer and asked me if I wanted to import them, which I answered with a Yes.
Now I have the AC9 Work Environment (WE) available to me in AC10.
It is also possible to export the AC9 WE and import it into AC10.
In AC10 ended up keeping the new menu structure (so I will learn it on the long run), but I have the same AC9 shortcuts (I usually work with shortcuts, not selecting menu items with the mouse).
This works quite well for me.
