Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I usually work in Landscape mode fully maximized.

Occasionally I work on tall wall sections where I want to see the entire wall and label all the details. This would be exteremely helpful (to me), but unfortunately I cannot get it to work.

<T>I have a monitor that rotates 90 degrees. Unfortunately when I rotate it while using archicad, I cannot see my drawing (I can see the tool boxes, macro buttons, etc, just not the working drawing)

Does anyone know if there is something inherent in Archicad that prevents it from being viewed when the monitor screen is rotated. If not, is there some setting I need to adjust to enable to be viewed when rotated?

PS. it works fine with every other prgram</T>

Yours is an unusual setup, and I wouldn't be surprised if you are the first to have run into this. It is likely that AC hasn't been tested (recently anyway) on a pivoting screen.

Do you have ArchiCAD maximized to the full screen? Is your drawing (plan) window also maximized?

What is the advantage to being able to rotate the screen? ArchiCAD seems most usable in landscape mode.

If you haven't already, it might be worth trying it with ArchiCAD not maximized. Perhaps it would behave differently if it's floating in a window rather than taking the full screen. Also does ArchiCAD work properly if you launch it with the screen already in portrait mode?

Any other ideas?

Check your manual. Many of the monitors that can rotate have software that came with it that allows you to rotate your screen successfully.

I am not sure they are set up to easily switch between the two orientations, but let us know.

i use a dell rotating moniter with ac and it wrks properly. i would try clicking the plan view tab on the window switcher toolbar and then go to the desktop. right click and then left click on the moniter name. it should have a setting in there to use your screen at landscape or portrait. i use mine regularly for the exact same thing. if this doesn't help try to make all you extra's (navigator and other toolbars) smaller it may be that they are pincing the plan to much to be visual. try to send a screen shot of the problem.

hop it helps.
