what are archicad's selling point?

every version of archicad has new features, some are amazing, some aren't special.

for me,
virtural trace, 3d document, auto-generated drawings (plan, elevation, section, 3d) are very nice

how about you? which are your famous feature?

1 - It's not an Autodesk product.
2 - It's available on a mac, so you are not tied to windows specifically.
3 - The whole concept of BIM & modelling a building out of real intelligent 3d components.
4 - The speed of producing drawings, and being able to assess immediately the effect of any change or decision in 3d.
5 - Being able to do what I used to do in AutoCAD LT, but 10 times faster and a quarter of the clicks!

1. Edits are nondestructive (try that with Autocad )
2. This forum
3. Sketch Rendering
4. Mac compatible
5. Model it once and have all your drawings correct automatically

You can legally transfer ownership of a license. That's not true of a lot of software.
