I agree Link, I'll just have to try to exlpain it to my buddy. Just kind of wierd though..in my plotmaker..its measured in Pts ....in my friends plotmaker...its in measured in fractional inches. And I can't seem to figure out where the option settings are, to configure the type of unit to be displayed in the text setting dialog box (Pts, mm etc..) if there is such option settings (and if there isnt...why does it seem to differ from my plotmaker to my buddy's plotmaker).

<T>Im posting this question up for a friend of mine, for some reason his text height under the text settings is measured in fractional inches instead of "Pt".
And Iv'e even tried many combinations under the working units menu under preferences. I'm all out of ideas on how to trouble shoot this.

Note: My friend is on a windows XP platform with AC 9.

Thanks</T>

Looks like I have completely misled you there, sorry too much time in metric with the INT version. It appears that text can be input using Pts in the layout environment.

What version is your 'buddy' using?
Junior:

In the Text Settings dialog box, in the lower right hand corner under "Scalability" are 2 options: "Scaled" and "Fixed". He needs to select the "Fixed" option to get point size rather than inches.
No problem Link, my friend is using the U.S. version...but i guess it doesnt matter in this particuler case right, knowing that the scalability option exist in both versions. It never seizes to amaze me how much is still to be discovered and learned in AC.
