<T>Trying to rotate a morph element off the z axis and when I get the rotation protractor on the half point it jumps to the x and y axis for a horizontal rotation...Ugh</T>

When trying to find the center of the morph element that I wanted to
rotate into an inclined barrel vault the half point mark did not appear and the protractor would only indicate a horizontal rotation when placed on the
bottom edge of the morph.

See screen shot below.

What I ended up doing is creating a small tab and attaching it to the
center point of the morph roof element, grouping the two morph elements
(small tab and roof element) having the tab located at the center point allowed me to rotate the roof off the z axis. crazy work around!

We should be able to see the half point and the protractor should cycle
through the x,y & z axes when placing the curser on that point.

Couldn't find the center without the tab and the protractor didn't want to
go vertical there.

I was able to get the half point of the morph tab I created and the
protractor went to the vertical rotation position there too

It was important to have the half point (highest point of the barrel vault
as the rotation and insertion line to place the morph roof properly.

While I was able to achieve the goal, don't understand why the halfpoint
of the bottom edge of the morph element was not indicated and there should be a way, if the cursor is on that point, to get the protractor to
cycle to vertical. Just saying...

If the mid point does not show up, try the Special Snap Point constraint to create it on the fly.
During the rotation edit, you can right-click to get the context menu to get to the Editing Plane > Pick Plane command to select the plane of rotation.
