topic wall with less thickness than window frame in Modeling

<T>Hi, everyone

When I draw a wall that has less thickness than the window frame (in my case, it's half an inch thick wood wall), the separate line between the wall and window disappears.

Is there any way to solve this, apart from manually drawing lines?

<Edited: removed ImageShack image and upload to this forum instead.></T>

Probably not.

The windows are likely created with the assumption that the wall is at least as thick as the jamb depth, though it does strike me as odd that there is no line at the back of the jamb.

So, I'm off to do the tedious work now.

Thank you, Matthew.

It works for me. Tried it on AC13.
There is a parameter called Wall Contour Line that should control this.
Check attached image.

Also note that even if the Wall Contour Line parameter is set correctly, the lines may still not show if Ganging on the Left/Right are checked because that setting is stronger than the Wall Contour Line setting.

Thank you, laszlonagy, for your respond.

According to my understanding, the Wall Contour Line parameter seems to control how the wall (beneath the window as we see on floor plan) is displayed, not the line that separate left/right frame from the wall.

Or did I miss something?

Sorry, I was looking at the Wall line, not the Window line.

What if you set Opening Oversize on the Left and Right to a very low value? Something that is not even really visible but the program will sense it as a difference.
E.g. in the INT version you can type 0.1 millimeter.
For me then it will display the Window line of the side.

One more thing:
If you set this value low enough, then it will not cause any problems even with dimensioning because it will be lower than the accuracy set for the dimension.

But I guess this is a workaround because it should work by default so I will report this to GS.

That would be great! 'Cause I'm now working on architectural conservation projects which deal with lots of doors and windows that couldn't be made with pre-build lib. For doors/windows schedules, I have to manually create elevation/section for each door/window. So for adding even 0.2mm, I have to re-adjust the elevation/section tools accordingly.

I know I could create a whole custom door/window but I'd lose the advantage of using doors/windows opening hotspots.

Then, again, thank you for the workaround
