topic AC to Plotmaker in Modeling

<T>I have had AC 8.1 since it came out and finally took the time to try to import directly from AC to PM rather than the old (cumbersome but understandable) method of saving PM documents.

I downloaded John Stebbins' step by step from the Digitalviz website and mangaged to crash my way through it (could not understand the manuals), but the whole process requires so many steps so as to be lacking in any kind of logic.

No doubt that I will get used to it and it will soon become second nature, but it seems to lack any semblage of the clarity and elegance that is at the core of basic AC.

Is 9.0 any better? Is it program bloat? Poor gui? I haven't seen anyone else gripe about this, but there must be a better way. I would be interested in your thoughts.
Don,

I'm not sure what you mean by so many steps to set up the links.

The views do need to be created in ArchiCAD first, but this can be done with a simple drag and drop in Publisher (the fully expanded Navigator window). Some views are already set up by default, but it may be easier to toss them and start from scratch.

The next step is to import the views into PlotMaker and arrange them on the sheets.

Naturally there are many subtle adjustments (and some not so subtle) that may need to be made, but these can be done after the initial set up and import.

Once you have things working the way you like you can set up your template files so everything is the way you want it from the start.

HTH,
Perhaps you meant to say "View Editor", Matthew?
Of course, silly me. That's what I get for not checking in ArchiCAD before I post.
