topic multiple objects along a curved line in Modeling

<R>As shown in the pic i have arranged many 100mm logs in a curved formation.

I achieved this by drawing a spline and then dragging multiple copies of the log around the line with the special snap points set to the dia. of the log. This worked fine but was extremely time consuming.

Is there any way to multiply many objects all at once along a curved line?

thx
thx again dwight,
this lets me place the logs in a circular pattern, i really want to have them in a non-circular formation as shown in the pic

can this be done?

Not in AC12 or 11!

It was possible in AC9 with Oleg Schmidt's add-on!

Hope Graphisogt/Nemetcheck will implement it in AC20!

ah, thx for letting me know.
Will just have to do them all induvidualy
Possible in 12, provided that part is an arc. Align and Distribute.

I attach the manual for Oleg's rxDuplicator for AC8.1, so you ccan see what we are missing:

The rxDuplicator tool looks great and has/had exactly the functionality needed.

Why hasn't GS added the functionality of multiplying / distributing along splines and multiple chained lines/arcs before? Surely those are the situations when you would like the machine to calculate it for you.

Straight lines and single arcs were relatively easy to do with AC11 and below, however new tools have been introduced in 12 to help us even further! I don't understand the logic!

Is there a current wish anywhere we can add our votes to?

Very Nice. Does it work in 12 too?

Peter, I have included it in some of my complex wishes:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... highlight=">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=24965&highlight=</LINK_TEXT>
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... &&start=10">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=24767&postdays=0&postorder=desc&&start=10</LINK_TEXT>

Probably I should make a sepatare poll for each of Oleg's invaluable add-ons!

Erika, alas, it doesn't! Oleg stopped developing his add-ons since AC9!
