Hi Rob,

The 'user origin' can be placed by either clicking Alt & Shift then hovering over a node, or by clicking the origin button on one of the toolbars. (the button with an x).

A search in the AC help files for 'user origin' will bring up full instructions.

Resetting where your snap grid origin occurs?

<T>here's the question:
Archicad 12.
I was shown once how to reset the "snap grid" to where I need it to be as it relates to the RCP plan for laying in the acoustical tile lines as well as the diffusers and return grilles.

I completely forget and cant' find in the manual where to adjust the snap grid so I can move it around and get it to a corner of the room.

How best to do this?
(see image below)</T>

Changing the position of the user origin won't alter the grid position.
You want the "Set rotated grid" command but when you set it just go horizontal instead of on an angle.
You can then swap any time between the standard and rotated grid (or in your case the standard and repositioned grid).
thanks guys....I'll have to try it.
I have a ceiling grid I need to add to a slab object which is 2" thick to represent a "celing grid" condition.

so, i'm gonna try the "rotated grid" variable and see what happens.
