Embarrassing, but now can't remember how I got the baluster
"wall" to tilt back.
I converted them to morphs, so can't go back and see what I did to
tapered walls to get them to tilt and miter with the others that make up
the baluster.

See image, AC calls it slanted wall.

If you are merely grouping elements for convenience instead of
creating a morph either group your elements or create a library part.
Library parts are a great way to reuse your work, you can easily
create parametric parts ( custom width, height, materials etc ) .

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I can do that, which I did,(although you can't tell by this new image);
But then I can't tapper the wall, in at top/out at bottom.
I've tried switching back and forth on same wall to get tapper and slanted without any success.
Actually, I think I got the idea to do this from one of your posts, or a post you responded to a short while ago?
Maybe that post has more info on how it was done?
But I could not find it.

Just place 4 slanted walls (one for each side of the post) and so long as their reference lines touch then they will mitre and for the taper you want.
So the walls you place will be as long as the base of your post and the top slanted in towards the centre.

As Barry says: The canted wall in your image must be wider at the base.
Once the base of each wall touches, and they are all canted,
then the cants will self miter all the way up.
BTW the post you are referring to is here.

Searching the posts is getting wiggly. To find stuff you remember.
In this case: you know 1) I was an author and 2) text = "canted wall" was used and 3) the post was a recent one.
Search with the 3 parameters of author, post time frame and text.
When doing it this way, you get positive results more frequently.

(and for all your other helpful posts too)

Using the "chained" method is what I did the first time and of course
after basic height and base lengths were set, all went with such a "Snap",
then sap, what I did floated away.
I think how I got my head stuck in the culvert of doom (week or so later) was that
I tried and tried to replace just one segment of the baluster(newel) walls (as it sort of shows in first image)
to test a new fill for that composites 2d look.
And down I went for the count:-)(

Try using the Wiki search:

Notice that you can view only ac-talk posts... and that there is an 'image' tag, so you can search by images related to the search.

PS If you click a search result and cannot see images, the thread is probably be presented in 'print' mode. Remove the text "printertopic=1&" from the URL to see the thread normally.

Maybe all these search options could better illustrated in a logical
order of search prioritization, if that makes any sense.
