This is just about sorted with the steel beams in AC9, but if you like I can email you some modified library parts that allow you to specify the top cut angle for columns etc for standar UK steel sizes. (AC8.1 and up only)

Send me your email via Private Message and I will forward them to you.

<T>I want to model some steel columns and beams with plumb cuts on the beams. In AC6.5 library there was an object called 'I-beam general' which allowed for Custom Settings to be active, providing various angled cuts etc. In AC8.1 I can't find a way of activating the greyed out Custom Settings in the Object Default Settings.
Please, can anyone point me in the right direction.
in any of the steel section objects, the first setting is usually it's size and weight in the form of a drop-down menu. right at the bottom of this (or maybe the top?) is a "CUSTOM" setting. this activates all of the greyed out stuff.

you may want to do a little modification yourself before you use them: they currently aren't built to be used the way the rest of the industry uses them: PLACEMENT BY TOP OF STEEL!!!
which objects are you using? i think that custom only unlocks the 'dimensions'(?) set of parameters not the 'properties' set. i could be wrong . . . i'm not in front of archiCAD at the moment, but i'll try later.
