<R>Hi friends,

Is there any method or shortcut offsetting lines easily in one command like in Autocad?

I had a wish about this "offset" command before but many Archicad users said " forget Autocad when you're using Archicad "

Ok ! completely accepted, but this offsetting method of Archicad drives me crazy again and again.
I only want Autocad's offset method in AC. May be there is a way but i don't know or i can't use.

your ideas? suggestions?</R>

put a personal shortcut to the offset command and by using the magic wand its quite fast.. also.. if you need multiple offsets.. you can either use the multiply command or there's an multiple offset command too

ogabson,

Have you looked at the Help file, under New Features, General Productivity, Easy Offset?

Archicad works differently (duh...), learn the differences and you'll soon be working just as quickly: 1) there is the offset of slabs, roofs etc though the pet palettes, 2) then offset of lines through the magic wand and 3)and the drag a copy for walls, lines, etc. More things to remember, but once you get on with it, just as versatile.

I had the same "offset" frustration, until I just stopped, really stopped wanting to do it the Autocad/Microstation/whatever way, get your mind into the Archicad way. You will increase your expertize and speed with the program.
Thank you Snap and Enrique,

I had problems generally 2D lines, polylines. I haven't known using the magic wand tool for offseting
I hope i'll fix my mind as soon as possible

Thank you again both of you for your guidance.

PS.
WOW! it works well
