Double origin markers in 3d

I keep seeing two origin markers after working in the 3d window for a while. Obviously one of them is global and one is local, but I never asked for or placed the local one. And it's not just appearing during an editing move: it will stay there until I double click the origin icon in the coordinates palette. It seems to be happening automatically* somehow as a part of what I'm doing. Has anybody else noticed this?

Maybe you are pressing ALT+SHIFT and if ArchiCAD is over an element node at that moment, the Local Origin will be relocated to that node. Then you will have to reset it to the Global Origin.
It can happen quite easily, in my experience.

Yup. That was it. I'm afraid this auto home story thing has made me a little paranoid.
Looking at this, I've found that ALT+SHIFT is a quick and easy way to offset the edit plane.
