Part of the solution may be to do some GDL editing.

Using the GDL edit to add 'rotx', 'roty' and 'rotz' to the objects may help in rotating some parts.

I sometimes wish that these 3 rotate related items were added automatically to any custom object created (will post it on wish list)
I dont know what you mean, what I need to do is creat a banquetting chair. So what I did was create a number of profiles for the legs the back the seat etc. Since these profiles lie flat on the floor I need to stand some of the up like the legs and the back, then just orientate all the objects in the right position a group them together.

My problem is I can figure out how the stand up the legs!

Create the profile standing up... Go to the Help menu/ArchiCAD Help; click on the Search tab and type in Profiler. Complete instructions for using Profiler are there and it will tell you how to easily accomplish what you are attempting to do.
The profiles that you created, are they actual objects or are they a series of slabs walls etc. shaped into the profile you require?

If they are already objects you may need some GDL as mentioned, otherwise...

If for example you modelled a leg flat you can look at the top of it by selecting the side view in 3D and viewing the sdie that relects what you want to see from the top and then saving this as an object.

When you open your leg in the object settings it should be vertical.
