And by placing an icon of your new ArchiCADs in the dock, you can easily drag different ArchiCAD files to these docked application icons to designate the application to open the file.

<T>We have recently switched to Mac's (G5 dual 2.0's) in our office and suddenly we are having to relearn some basics like how can we open multiple files of archicad at one time. It's a no brainer in Windows (unlike alot of things) and I have no doubt that there is a work around. Can anyone help - Thanks</T>

Create separate copies of ArchiCAD and use each one to open a new ArchiCAD file.

i have three archiCADs and two plotmakers in my dock.

to make the copies, as dwight said, go to your archCAD 'directory' (/Applications/ArchiCAD 8.1 folder/) and hold down the 'ALT' key. now click the archiCAD icon and drag it to a little way down the folder list. see the green '+' button next to the cursor? that means you're making a copy.

OSX will then create a new archiCAD application in the same folder and append ' copy' to the end (you can rename this as you want). then launch it like any other application . . .
