It depends on the label but here is how it is done for this column label.

You may need to add some script to your label if you want to have more control of the dimension display.

I don't have a good custom label for columns. Perhaps someone can share one with us??
Attached is the column object I found that has the settings you would like for display of column dimensions.

What I do some times is open an object, find the script I want, copy it and add it to another part.

If you send me the column label you want to have this "Accuracy" script added to I will give it a try and see if we can make the label you want.

Have you looked here for labels ?
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/obj ... sitory.php">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php</LINK_TEXT>

Also if you want to make your own new Label there is a template of sorts for that. Click File-Libraries and Objects-New Objects. Then click on the Select Subtype button. Expand the Drawing Symbol tab and select Label. Click Select. This will get you started with the basic label.

You can open another label or object at the same time. This way you can see them side by side. Use drag-n-drop to copy script from one object to the other to make a custom object with out ever knowing any GLD. All you need to know is how to copy and paste script. Doing this is not a bad way to get a basic understanding of what GDL scripting looks like and how it works.
