<R>How do I rotate a slab around the x axis? For example, I have created a corbel with a complex profile using the slab tool but it needs to be rotated to be in the correct orientation. </R>

Do a search with the key word 3D rotate and you will
find several methods of doing this.
You can't tilt a slab. You can't use a slab with the custom profile tool.
Wha are you really doing?

You CAN take a 3D view and create a GDL object that can then be rotated.

Or use an add-on like ArchiForma to make the element.

OR - best solution and FREE and no object-making:

use the complex profile with a beam or wall and stick it up as acorbel with no need to rotate.

You have the right idea for what I want to do. I need to be able to create my own. I attached an image of what I'm working with. If slabs can't be tilted then what should I use? I want to use a simple tool.
Thank you much.
As dwight mentioned above, you can use complex profiles with beams or walls which will be in the correct orientation for you.

If you haven't already, use profile manager to create a profile in the shape you want, then you can place it using the wall or beam tools.

For searching use the keywords "Complex Profile"

and click on the "How to Create Custom Library Parts" link. The PDF will show you how to take the 3D view so the part is rotated correctly.

We pursue two threads at once, here - so to clarify: if our poster uses the complex profile method as suggested to make the horizontal shape he seeks, there is no need to rotate OR save as an object since horizontal extrusions are made with the beam or wall tool and vertical extrusions are made with the column tool.

But for anything else - like 45 degrees, say, then we should use Richard's suggestion.

While I agree that that "info's" object could be done either way, the limitation of complex profiles is that the cross-section remains constant throughout the object. Whereas, the "slabify" and building up of an object allows you to create a fairly complex GDL object of disparate pieces, regardless of the rotation issue.
