Just had that not sticking problem with resetting the WE up in 16 after I had to do a "repair" from the 16dvd.
What I do (even before 16) that seems to help get the profile to stick is start at the bottom and redefine (if that option is not grayed out) all the schemes one by one to my preferred named ones, till I get to the top.
For me at least, if I try to just redefine just the one(s) I adjusted, the profile won't stick.
And even doing all from the from bottom to top, it had to be done twice for some reason.

<T>I have set up a profile for a work environment amd have it set as default. Problem is whenever I open a project the work environment has changed - to a custom setting - but its only some of the items, such as user preference, tools & palettes. The others stay as my stored scheme. This is not how I saved it or left it last.
I don't change anything from my saved profile. When I go to open new file, and 'set up work environment' it is set to current (my saved profile). How can I set this so I don't have to go and change it every time, for every project I open.</T>

I had an issue like this. I'd set my work environment, update everything to a new scheme, and save it as a new profile. Then I'd go right back in, and two of them (I think palette schemes and one other) seem to reset themselves to custom. I reported this, and Graphisoft mentioned it's a bug. They don't actually change, they keep your settings, but the name goes to custom.

So if your settings are ok, but just the name is changing, then it's a small bug they don't seem interested in fixing. If your settings aren't staying the same, then it is some other problem.
