<T>Hi,

After I place a library object, the library tool won't stop. I have to hit the esc key to force the tool to unload itself.
If I have a marquee, then I have to hit esc twice and loose the marquee before I can stop the library tool.

I checked, in AC12 it stops after a single placement. Can this be changed somewhere?
What do you mean by "stop" and "unload"? The object tool (like any tool) will remain the active tool until you either (a) select a different tool, or (b) press Esc enough to switch to the arrow tool.

OK. Esc is the new normal behavior.
Look back at AC12, when you place an object, the tool automatically deactivates after a single placement.
You are<S></S> immediately<E></E> free to do anything else without resorting to esc sequences.

Thanks,
Still not sure what you're talking about. The behavior is/has been how I described in every version since 6.5 when I started using AC. Just checked 12, and it is the same there - object tool stays active with current object, ready to place another copy.

Maybe it has something to do with which object you're placing? Or else I still do not understand what behavior you are seeing....

Cheers,
I suspect you mean that the object outline hangs on the cursor each time you place an object?
Check your setting in the Work Environment, On-Screen Options and turn off the 'Show Ghost Bounding Box of Objects'

Hope this solves your problem.
