Good question. You can lock what you have selected in the 3d view.
Then press F2. The locked objects will have a different node color.
This us useless if you already have some things locked.

while trying just got the solution,

> open the 'selection' palette from 'window' menu,
> select the element(s) from the 3D view window,
> using 'selection' palette, store the selection with a name,
> come to the plan view and activate the stored selection.

thanks Steve.
This function should be in the wish list for sure.
If selected objects are in the common (same) story, then there should come an option in the 'right click menu' to see the objects in plan.

This is a good idea.
However, I see there are complications.
E.g. if several elements are selected in 3D and their Home Stories are not the same, then which Story should the command take you to? The Home Story of the last selected element?
Or should the command work only when one element is selected or all selected elements have the same Home Story?

Still, I think you should make a wish for this, would be a useful feature.

I hope the interface could be programmed such a way that
> if the selected elements are from one and common story, then there should come an option in the 'right click menu' to see the objects in plan.

> if the selected elements are from more than one stories, then there should come more options in the 'right click menu' to....
. > see the objects in 0 story,
. > see the objects in 1 story,
. > see the objects in 2 story.... like this
This story option list should automatically come in the menu, as per the selected objects home stories.

Thanks for your appreciation, I already added this wish today, and now i will also elaborate that with the texts above.

I think it is good idea to see in a plan window, what have we really selected.
Objects, that are not belong to current story can be shown as a special ghost
with some different color, lets say light-green or with a running dashed linetype.

And right click is not needed.
