Well, features have warnings, bugs just happen. I've been talking with GS Tech. They've reproduced the problem so are now aware of it.

<DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"><T>When an elevation is changed from MODEL view to DRAWING, door and window labels (created as object labels) lose their text. The marker outline itself remains, but the text is lost. I'm assuming this is because the label is not transformed into a 2D element but is still trying to read a 3D element which no longer exists. This is a bad bug. All doors and windows have to be re-labeled by hand. I've notified Graphisoft.</T></DIV>

Your assumption is correct and I think the labels function correctly. What you really want is an extra-feature of the elevation, to be able to keep this information after the section is converted, which would be nice, but wrong. Elevations are supposed to be connected with the plans, not just simple 2D drawings. If your elevations are not looking OK and need more work, it's probably a default model. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks uisanata, but I wasn't looking for anyone's advice regarding unlinking elevations. There are reasons--and benefits--to unlinking in some cases. Hence the feature. The fact is that the label function does not work correctly in this case.
