<T>Work Environment>User Preference Schemes>Selection and Element Information>Transparency in Shaded OpenGL view:

Can anyone tell me how this works, or what it works with? Moving the slider doesn't change anything in my 3D window.

Yes, 3D Window Settings are set to Transparency in Shading: On.

There used to be a setting under OpenGL Options in AC9 (gone by AC11) which looked similar, which specified a transparency threshold.

I can change the Transmittance values for a material, but the slider in "Transparency in Shaded OpenGL view" still doesn't change anything.</T>

Craig:

This does not affect the transparency of elements, it changes the amount of transparency of the Highlight color applied to selected elements. You need to have an element selected to see this settings effect in the 3D Window.
