Archicad always wants to 'save as', & overwrite original fil

Sorry if this has been addressed. I could not find it via search.

Much of the time when I go to save a solo project, like when opening another project. Archicad wants to save it as 'untitled', and I have to find the original file location, change the name to the desired one, then overwrite it. I thought I had it fixed by resolving all the library & material conflicts, but am still getting this behavior (and have for a while across multiple versions)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you opening an existing file or starting a new one?

Every time you start a new file, it will be Untitled until you save it with a name in the appropriate folder.

It is when I open an existing file, work on it, and then save.

I have the same issue. When I open existing file, command "File->Save" (or cmd+S) causes "save as" dialog to appear!
What is good - that after I overwrite existing file, all the next savings work well.

But the next time I open this file - everything repeats.

Check that you are not opening a Template file instead of a PLN.

This is just an idea:
Also check if you have write permission for that file or folder.
Maybe ArchiCAD offers Save As because it cannot perform the normal Save because of such constraints.

Checking out your Keyboard Shortcuts settings for the "save" and "save as" commands within the Work Environment dialog box might be a good idea in addition to the suggestions made earlier.

try everything.... don't work. Still the issue
i'm using Archicad 14 edu on Mac Osx snow leopard
