topic Editing polygon elements - bug or new feature? in Modeling

<T>I just had this pointed out to me.
When you have a polygon type elements with multiple nodes on one edge it used to be possible (version 16 and before) to drag one of those edges across and beyond the polygon shape and that portion would automatically delete.
This can be handy when editing paving areas or single roof planes for example.

Now in 17 and 18 when you perform the same edit it creates a brand new polygon that has to be selected and deleted.

See attached image for a very simple example.

It is not a big problem but I can't think of a good reason why this would have been altered.
What do you think?
I found it especially handy with cleaning up extra nodes and making sure the edge doesn't become skewed.

I tend to suppose this was an intentional change on Graphisoft's part.

The question for me is whether this mode of operation is better/useful for more users than the previous one, or not.
I, for one, found the previous method more useful, was using it quite extensively. At the moment I don't see any obvious situation where that extra polygon would be the result I would need.
I will forward this thread to GS for their consideration.

I noticed that as well, but can't see any use.
