Roof and wall editing

Why are the tops of my walls appearing in the surface of the roof after trimming them? I have encountered this problem before when the roof trims to top of the roof instead of the bottom and I'm never sure what I did differently. Also, when I select the (trimmed) walls and go to the dialogue box the 'undo trim' button is greyed out. Thank you for help.

I think you will find that the building materials (or at least one of them) used in your wall composite are stronger that the building materials in your roof.
The roof needs to be stronger than the walls.

The greyed button you mention is I think for 'cropping' walls which is different to trimming walls.
Cropping is permanent and stays as is when you delete or adjust the roof.
Trimming is interactive so as you adjust the roof the wall will re-trim automatically.

Use the little blue 'connect' box (has 4 little squares in it) to cancel the trims - can be seen in plan or 3D (and elevations) when ever you select the wall (or roof).

If using SEO, there is also the option in the SEO dialog box to "New Surfaces of Target Will: Inherit Attributes of Operator", but in my experience the default choice is "Use Their Own Attributes".

Thank you. I changed the roof material and it cleaned up however I don't see a way to increase the strength of the materials in the roof dialogue box as there is in the wall tool box? Is it because of the composite materials need to be edited individually?

The material strength is set by the Intersection Priority in the Building Material dialog box.
