Isn't there a vaulted ceiling object in the library?

If you're on 15 it seems the shell tool should be able to do this. If you are on 12 as your signature suggests, then a combination of complex profiles and the roof tool would work.

Any ideas on how the shell tool will achieve this? To this point I have basically been making two detail extruded shells and SEOing them for mediocre and slightly messy results. Any other ideas using this tool?

If you want to make it out of Shells you should create several Shell pieces and connect them to each other, that way unnecessary portions will be trimmed.

Check out these videos about the Shell Tool:
@Djorde I am not sure that there is a vaulted ceiling object.

@lazy thanks, I was looking at these yesterday, but for some reason I cannot get several shells to resolve nicely.

It's hard to see exactly what is happening from the photo but can't you just use a complex profile wall? I know 15 provided a nice new toy for folks to use, but the older tech still works quite well.

This actually worked really nicely. Since the rooms are not perfectly square, each side of the ceiling needed to be unique complex profile. The general shape of each profile was similar, only the distance to reach the center of the room changed. Sometimes the simplest solution is one that has been around in AC for a while! Duh! Thanks for everyone's input.
