topic Rafter Edge in Modeling

<T>I'm modelling rafters made using the roof wizard, library part Rafter RM 21. I would like to cut the eave so that a 2x6 fascia would be sufficient to cover it. While the option 'Rectangular Cut' is given, there isn't any parameter for defining how much is cut, it seems to be arbitrary, in my case a 7:12 roof pitch, the fascia's plumb line measures 3 3/16". Am I missing something here?

Also, why is it that the seat cut can't be modeled automatically? Using SEO can cause lag when there are so many rafters.

Thanks for the help.</T>

While I agree that the rafter parameters leave something to be desired, I would be VERY surprised if an SEO that just clips the bottom tip of the rafters is going to cause any noticeable slowdown. Usually, you have to get into the thousands of SEOs. In fact, I just tried placing a lot of rafters and used a slab to cut the bottom of them. I can't see any difference in performance.
