Hi there, this is my first assignment using this program. I have been given a site plan base and need to expand to show all the items in the key. The course tutorials are hopeless and give no help to a first time user who needs basic basic help.

First off I am trying to get this fence symbol shown in the key (line with circles) to go around the existing site boundary line. They have provided a key in the template that has the symbol for the fence they want me to use which is a brown line with circles at even intervals. I thought I could just copy it and place it around the site boundary but everything I try does not work. Please help I am sure this is ultra basic but I have no idea. To set the line type as your default then you need to use the eye dropper (pipette) tool to copy the settings.
ALT-click is the keyboard shortcut.

This is assuming the line in your key (legend) is an actual line.

Then every line you draw after that will have the same settings - until you change them.
