yes that's perfect (maybe the turorial is based on other AC version but I am using AC 23 so not all matches)
Many Thanks Lingwisyer

<T>Hello, I am trying to adjust a slanted wall height from 3400 to 3950, but the wall top only changes to 3423,
I tried "clear all connection" but same effect.
Please advice why</T>

and where to set this "height.tan(alpha) < width"？
Since you are using a <S></S>Composite<E></E>, you will need to modify the some of the layer thicknesses within the one you are using, or make a unique <S></S>Composite<E></E> for this wall.

That equation is just means that your top thickness is not less then zero.

height.tan(alpha) < width

height = height of wall
alpha = slope of face
width = width of wall base

If you want a specific top width, just input your desired height and wall slope, then add your top width to the answer.

Does that tutorial actually ask you to use a <S></S>Composite<E></E> rather than a <S></S>Basic<E></E> wall? Bit odd that it would tell you to use a specific composite with sloped faces / height that does not work...

Ling.

I tried either changing to "Basic wall" or "Composite wall", the effects are the same: some times work and some times not work
As the attached picture, I follow the same way of the tutorial, one end of wall works, and the other not.
Such not being stable could because of version bug ...

Thanks Lingwisyer

Now I found a process to be stable-- click OK after each step:
(1) ”wall selection setting“，change to basic wall, then click OK
(2) ”wall selection setting“， change height, then click OK
(3) "wall selection setting“，change back to composite wall, then click OK
