External update failure

I don't use a lot of external content but recently have not been able to update external drawings. Seems to be a fair amount of discussion but no clear resolutions. I have tried re-linking drawings, deleting and adding new, and even experimented with creating two new projects from blank archicad template and tried to share drawings between these two new files. Nothing woks.

Next step was I thought there might be conflict with a demo version of archicad 18 I installed (Planning on upgrading soon.) so I deleted and re-installed V11. Still cannot add external drawings. Update process just never completes fo hours.

Am grabbing at straws here and am looking for some kind of solution.

Did you change the IPC settings in the registry or Plist?

Nope have not. After a reboot I did get one drawing to link and update but another try at it has been unsuccessful.

I don't use it but am getting error message about missing add ons IFC 2x2 and IFC 2x3. Anyy connection?

a couple of questions...

• mac or pc - which operating system & version
• have you installed any recent operating system updates... AC11 is not officially supported on newer OS versions?
• have you tried the same external references in a new file to check if the file is corrupt?

Sorry, guess my signature is a little cryptic.
PC with windows 8.1 with automatic updates. Seems there have been some recent updates.
I created two new projects from the ArchiCAD template. I try to place an external drawing from one to the other and update fails so am beginning to see it as an OS issue. Going to try on W7 machine.

No worries - only noticed the W8... anyway seems somewhat ambitious to expect AC11 from 2007 to run on a recent OS.

Yup it seems to be something with W8.1 as there is no problem on W7 machine. Looks like time to upgrade.
