<T>Hi there...., i had designed a beam with a certain elevation from home story..say -1900mm from a reference level and when i switch to a section view it is visible..so in 3d view. However if i change the elevation settings of the same beam to -2050mm or -3000mm..it becomes invisible in both the section and 3d window..i can' t figure out the problem. Anyone to help.
Make all Layers visible and check to see if there is some other element (most probably a Wall) the geometry of which coincides with the Beam.
Beams are connected to certain other element types when their geometries are colliding in 3D:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/guides ... rinciples/">http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/guides/archicad-19/archicad-19-int-reference-guide/elements-of-the-virtual-building-2/construction-elements/element-intersections/basic-intersection-principles/</LINK_TEXT>

Each element has a Building Material and the Building Material has an Intersection Priority Number as can be seen in the Options\Element Attributes\Building Materials Dialog. The element with the Building Material having larger Intersection Priority Number will cut the geometry of the other colliding element. This way your Beam could have become invisible (cut completely by another element).
