If you have a .doc or .txt file are they text based (the .txt certainly should be). Can't you save out as a .pdf? I see you are on Windows, on Mac that functionality is baked into the OS.

<T>Is there any way to import .doc or .txt file into AC so the text in the original file comes in to the program as text. The original file has lots of text boxes within which the real text resides. Cut and paste would not be practical as there is a lot of text. I could practically retype it quicker.

Can't seem to find a way to do that. Seems simple....

Thanks Tom</T>

Original text is in text boxes. There must be 1000 text boxes. Have to open each text box in the orginal, copy, then go to AC, do a text command, then paste. Don't want to do that 1000 times. Looking for the import the whole file method.

You could try printing the documents as PDFs then importing and exploding the PDF file in ArchiCAD.

Explode the PDF? Didn't know that was an option. I tried it with the explode into current view command but it didn't work. This PDF was created by a scan, rather than exported out into a PDF format. That may be the problem.....any thoughts on that?
I thought you said it was a .doc or a .txt file. If you are working from a scan you are out of luck with the explode pdf option. It's a cool feature when it works though.

You should use an Optical Character Recognition software to convert the image texts to real texts, then saves as PDF, then import into ArchiCAD and explode.
I did not check but I can even imagine there are web sites that offer optical character recognition as a free service.
