<DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"><T>I've drawn a closed amorphous shape with a spline. I'd like to add a thickness to it so it's like a slab but with a free form shape. No idea whether I can do that. Can anyone help?</T></DIV>

The magic wand tool with a slab should work.

Not sure how they work together but I'll have a play and see what transpires. Thanks

Irrelevant for quick sketchy preliminary, but dramatically important for later phases: be aware that the slab edges will not be splines but a series of circular arcs which because of the way the magic wand settings work are not even tangential (they don't work as a clean 'intent translation' of splines into arcs). So for serious stuff one needs to sit down, figure out and draft that geometry the way it should be.
