<T>In AC9 I had a Door object favorite that I would use as a Knock-out in the Stem walls of the foundation. I have attempted to replicate the door/opening in AC10 without success. I am using the D1 10 opening from the Wood internal doors folder. Is there another way?

Attached is a view, but I am having errors in Lines 277, 287 & 297 of the 3D script.</T>

Well I looked back at the AC9 Favorite. While that object had a Frame width of 0", the AC10 door object need to have at least The Frame Width side or the Frame Width Upper to be greater than zero. The 3d generates without any error, but there is a Thin Frame shown in 3D. Any one have a better idea...............................

Actually just now made the Frame depth equal to 1/32" and it is only a small line.

Jay,
I don't understand why you are using a door rather
than an empty opening. You can make your own
empty opening object so that you can have
the default parameter settings you want.
Peter is right but you dont even need to GDL your own empty door. Just hit the empty door icon in the door settings and you wont have to worry about frame settings.

If you dont wish your knockout to be full width of the wall you can use a beam to knockout just that section. Place the beam on a hidden layer to leave the rebate.

I was thinking that Jay could make his own "Knockout Opening"
so it would have the most commonly used settings.
He does not have to do any scripting.

Go to File->Libraries/Objects->New Object.
Push the Sub-type button and select Sub-type->Opening->Door(Wall)
Push the "Details" button and select the 3D opening with visible edges.
By double clicking on each parameter at the
second column from the left put blue "X"s
next to all blue obligatory parameters except
"A", "B", and "Opening Lines". This will hide them
in the settings dialog.
Set "A","B", and "Opening Lines" to what you most
commonly use so they will be the defaults.
Save the object with a name and location.
Done.

Yes, that is the visible 3D edges icon.
I don't recognize the form of the gs_wacont_line parameter.
My version of the object says
Wall contours (0-None,1-Full,2-Side,3-Length).
You are supposed to enter a number.
Yours appears to have a value list displayed as a turn down list.
You don't need to do any scripting.
See attached object.
Wall Contours (0-None,1-Full,2-Side,3-Length) set to 1.
But it is a solid line.
You can change the line type in the Floor Plan and Section
turn down pane. In Symbol and Outline un-check Enable objects
line types and Enable objects pens and select the line type
and pen you want.
Thank you once again Peter. You have help me simplify this door object, and learn about creating subtypes.

Last question has to do with how the Selected door displays in plan. I have added some Hotspots to the 2D symbol of the opening to allow for eaisier selection. When the D1 10 door is selected the wall countour line is "highlighted" designating that the item is selected. The Knockout opening contour line does not highlight. This is very Minor, but though I might learn something here. Thanks & Happy Easter. He has Risen!
