Problems publishing sun study 2DLs

How do you bring in 2DL content (sun study images) in AC 20? I am trying merge, hotlink manager, opening the files in Archicad, with no luck.

It will need to be saved in a format that Archicad can read - such as DXF or DWG.
There may be other formats - look at the file types in the browse dialogue when you open a file, merge a file or place a hotlink (they are all slightly different).
There is a ".2DL" file type but this is an Archicad 2D line file (an old format I assume) and I am guessing not the '2DL' file you have.

These are sun study images generated in Archicad 20. Ages ago Archicad 8 or 9 opened them. Haven't tried the format ever since —the AC20 options for vectorial output in sun studies are 2DL and PMK.

Well if they are saved from Archicad as '2DL' files, then they should be able to be opened or merged as '2DL' file as well - both have this option.
Even placing a hotlink has this file type option.

I am saying in my first message than I am not being able to merge, hotlink, etc. Merge won't work, open will not open, file will not show up in hotlink manager once selected under the Archicad 2D lines option.

I am not having any trouble here.
Saved sun study from Vectorial 3D widow (must be vectorial window to get 2DL file type option).
Then placed a hotlink choosing the 2DL file type.
Not greyed out for me but I am Windows and not Mac - that shouldn't make a difference though I shouldn't think.

I just realised my sun study is generating 0 bite 2DL files. 3D window looks ok during the process, and the same sun study generated as MP4 look good.

It turns out there is a known bug in AC20, not sure if Mac only, when generating 2DL sun studies —fills need to be set to frameless for things to work. I can't find the post where I read that now, but everything is working that way.
