We have a similar problem with zones that is related, I think, with the way we use the reference line in the office. All interior walls are set to core center line whereas all exterior walls are set to core outside reference line (grid line is face of structure on exterior wall only).
Wherever an interior wall follows an exterior one, the reference line jogs (no continuity) and updating the zone doesn't work anymore.
Is there something I can do with building material priority or skins wrap rules that I can use to fix this?

Thank you,
Zone Tool - Switching from manual to reference line

<T>Hi all;
I am encountering some difficulties with the zone tool. I have a plan schematic all mapped out with zones and am now in the process of drawing out walls. I then want to switch my zones from manual to reference line so they auto update. I have several areas where the zones give me an error on updating. I was able to trace that error back to not fully closed wall connections. I am also using some construction lines with "zone boundary" ticked, but I am having trouble getting those zones to update correctly. Question is two-fold:
1) How can I get the zones where I use construction lines as boundary tools to work? Do I need to use fully closed Polygons for this as the lines do not appear to connect to the walls? 2) Is there an easy way to highlight all the erroneous wall connections?

Thx,
Marc</T>

1. So long as the wall and zone lines touch to form an enclosed space there should not be a problem.
All the layers with the wall and zone line in must be visible when you update zones.

2. Not really but turning on the reference line visibility in plan may help to see where potential gaps may be.
