It depends on the PDF.
If it was produced from a vectorial program like Archicad then if you can't snap to the points directly you may be able to 'explode' the PDF and convert it to lines.
I know Archicad PDFs can now have layers but can't remember if the points are snap-able or not or if you always have to explode the PDF first.

If it is a scan from a photocopier then you can't even explode it as it is just a bitmap image.

<T>Hi,

I am trying to draw walls over a trace reference and no snaps seems to be working, is there somewhere to turn them on?

Thanks
If you switch over to the trace reference can you snap to it then?
I am just wondering if it might be a PDF or something that doesn't have points that you can snap to.
Hi Barry,

Yes it's a pdf, I didn't realise you couldn't snap to pdf's drawing points.

Thanks!
You can explode a PDF in to lines/fills, but in my experience the measurements aren't very exact (lots of decimals or just plain off by more than half a mm).

Might just be my bad luck with vectorial PDF then, or exceptionally sloppy drafting on the end of the party responsible for those PDF drawings.
